Guadalajara Sour

This is a variation of a cocktail that was recommended recently in the New York Times.  It is a fresh summer cooler that is sure to please.  Pour ‘em good and strong!

  • 1 ¾ ounces tequila (I prefer gold, and don’t waste money on a fancy one!)
  • ¾ ounces fresh lemon juice
  • ¾ ounces agave nectar
  • ¾ ounces dry rose

Combine tequila, lemon juice and agave nectar in a cocktail shaker.  Add ice and shake until your hand hurts.  Strain into an oversized wine glass filled with ice.  Slowly pour a layer of rose on top, being careful not to mix it in (you may want to pour over the back of a spoon).  No garnish needed!  Serve ‘em up and shout Arriba! Arriba!
